Quick Start Guide

To start using Timeline, you need to follow these simple instructions:

1. Create (or get access to) a Subversion repository

To start using Timeline you will need to have access to a Subversion repository. You can create a local repository on your machine, create an account on the PixelNovel server or you can use some existing network or Internet based repository.

2. Install Timeline plug-in

Once you have a Subversion repository, download and install the Timeline Photoshop plug-in. Double-click the installer file and follow the steps.

3. Create a project

After the installation Timeline connects to the Subversion repository and then you can create projects (folders) for your files inside your repository. A project corresponds to one folder on your computer together with its subfolders. To learn more about Timeline projects please see the Timeline project section. To help you create a project we have provided Timeline Project Assistant application that starts automatically after installation. Just follow assistant's instructions that will guide you through the project creation process. The Project Assistant section provides more information on the assistant steps.

4. Log into your repository

If your Subversion repository requires authorization, on the second step of the Project Assistant you will be asked to provide your user name and your password. In the authorization form there is an option to remember you log-in information. If you tick this option you will not be asked for your password anymore, otherwise you will need to provide your log-in information when you start Adobe Photoshop.

5. Your first file version

Once the project is created you can submit your files into it - just open any of the files within the project folder in Adobe Photoshop and press the "Submit" button in the Timeline window.
